All our staff are to help promote the prevention of dental decay and gum disease. Should, however, a cavity develop that requires restoration, we will endeavor to carry out the necessary repair with the minimal loss of remaining tooth structure with the use of the best materials currently available.

Years of advances in techniques and materials now mean that there are often multiple options in how we restore individual teeth. While the majority of the work undertaken at the practice is delivered under the terms of the NHS, the current regulations often restrict the techniques and materials that can be used. The most common example of this are the regulations requiring us to use dark amalgam fillings in your back teeth rather than white composite restorations.

While our goal will always be to help you retain the function of your natural teeth we appreciate that obtaining an aesthetic result is often of prime importance. If this is especially important to you, please let us know and we will advise and assist accordingly.
