When a tooth reaches the stage where it cannot be repaired by means of a conventional filling it is usually necessary to consider the use of Crowns. Where fillings are used to repair cavities within teeth, crowns (occasionally referred to as “caps”) are designed to cover all of the remaining visible portion of the tooth. These restorations are constructed by qualified dental technicians, normally using tooth coloured porcelain for your front teeth and metal crowns at the back.

As a result of current NHS regulations we are currently prohibited from placing tooth coloured porcelain crowns on back teeth, but again, should aesthetics be important to you we have a variety of options at our disposal to provide you with natural looking results.
